Motion Graphics
Motion is inherently engaging. If something is moving then it has a life of its own and manages to guide a viewer through even the simplest of information. I appreciate the connection I develop with a viewer through the process of animation, as engaging with timing, form, space, and sound are intimate to the human experience.

I made this short animation before the final presentations of my first semester of the master's program. The cupcake is a little innocent character that is supposed to take away the nervousness of us students.
Graduation project:
“Inside my DNA” (presented in German)
Watch the animation on vimeo, passwort “bachelor”.
For my bachelor graduation topic, I was interested in exploring topics that transcend the human condition, specifically our connection with heritage. In October 2018, I had done a DNA test as I had been curious about where my real roots come from as my mom is part Dutch and German while my father has Sicilian heritage.
This project was not only an exploration of creating accessibility to a complex and nuanced conversation around identity but also takes a dance on our one-dimensional approach to personal identity. It is important to express that an individual is never 100% anything, and that DNA is mobilized to separate people, when in fact, 99% of all human DNA is the same. We all are different, yet somehow the same.
Through this animation, I narrate the story of three people, including myself, who conduct the same DNA test and explore the topic within the larger conversation of identity.
